Government figures have shown that Britain experienced its driest March in 59 years. Large parts of the country were hit by less than half the normal rainfall they would experience at that time of the year which has in turn led to hosepipe bans being enforced in many areas.

Thousands of homes throughout the UK continue to perform poorly as far as energy efficiency is concerned. The government has recognised the need for properties to get into shape, especially if they expect to achieve the highly ambitious carbon emissions targets they have set and are doing their bit to help by announcing the launch of new and improved Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs).
It is hoped that the new-look Energy Performance Certificates will enable homeowners to better understand how they can make their home more eco-friendly. UK Communities Minister Andrew Stunell says:

Research carried out by Britannia Rescue has found that a substantial number of drivers are putting off major repairs to their vehicles due to the cost involved. 14% of those polled believe that their car is in urgent need of repair but they simply cannot afford to pay for them. This is a risky strategy as it could easily result in cars failing their MOT/service and repairs far exceeding what they should cost.
