About Wessex Home Improvements

Founded in 1978, Wessex Window Systems (now Wessex Home Improvements) has grown significantly over the last quarter of a century. We do not operate nationally, and service Hampshire and local areas first and foremost, although our Commercial Division services most of Southern England and the Midlands. We have always been Winchester based, and have occupied our purpose built premises at The Foundry in Kings Worthy since 1983.

Made to order, made to measure, made for you…

From design, to manufacture, to installation and the service that takes place all over it, everything we do is made especially for you and your home. Our expert and friendly teams make sure everything they do is exactly what you want, from the layout of your new room to style, colour and finish. Product quality, customer service and unbeatable value for money are at the heart of our ethos.

Our Ethos…

We have grown by investment in production, premises, products and people. It is a thoroughly modern, professionally-run business but we pride ourselves on retaining the old-fashioned philosophy of customer satisfaction, quality assurance and technical achievement to the highest standards.

We make it for you…

Our manufacturing operations are a crucial part of our business. By having our own production facilities making products of our own design, we are able to maintain the high quality and service standards that we promise to our customers. Wherever we have found a problem in the past which meant that we were unable to meet our promises, we have invested in our own facilities.

Design, fabrication, thermal improvement and finishing are all under one roof. In addition we have formed strategic partnerships with suppliers of our main raw materials, the framing and the finishing processes. We can therefore control our customers’ orders from the raw material through to the finished product ready for installation. In that way we can deliver on time and install on time, taking away the frustration of not being in control. This in turn means that we are able to satisfy our objective of customer satisfaction whether it’s our own local installation in a customer’s home or fabricated products supplied nationally to the trade.

Our reputation depends on an efficient operation in all aspects of our business. By controlling our manufacturing process in its entirety we can ensure that customers will always receive what they ordered as promised.

Wessex Home Improvements have been making and installing thermal Aluminium windows in southern England since our inception.  We specialise in Joedan® aluminium windows and doors due to their unique design, high security and superb finish.  Our aluminium systems can be tailored to meet your exact requirements. The frame widths, sash design, thermal specification and glazing options can all be changed to suit your property perfectly.

In addition, we can fabricate our aluminium windows and doors in virtually any colour you ask for.  We can even create dual coloured products where a different finish is required on the inside of your property to the one outside! Choose from casement, georgian, sash, french, triple and double glazed windows and doors.

Our world is your world too…

At Wessex Window Systems, we have a philosophy of environmental concern and the choices that we offer reflect this.

  • Aluminium is wholly recyclable, using only 5% of the energy required to make the original material
  • Over 70% of all the aluminium that has ever been produced in the world is still in use
  • PVCu is a by-product of oil but is now recyclable
  • We use sustainable materials
  • Aluminium is the 3rd most common element in the Earth’s crust
  • Our timber is sourced from renewable forests.

At Wessex Window Systems we share other concerns for the environment.

  • Our manufacturing, supply and installation operations follow recovery and recycling policies
  • Our aim is to design energy-effective end products
  • UK homes produce 28% of our CO2 emissions and we want to help to reduce this figure
  • Our transport logistics are designed for maximum efficiency
  • Our operations are organised to minimise our use of land and energy

FENSA Registered Member

We have developed and improved our products and service to ensure that we give our customers what they want. In addition, we have designed our products to comply with the standards and requirements demanded by government regulations and consumers alike. We are proud of our achievements in gaining recognition by government and trusted industry bodies and we will continue to keep ahead of industry requirements.

What is FENSA?
FENSA stands for the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme. Following Government encouragement, FENSA has been set up by the Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) and other industry bodies in response to Building Regulations for double glazing companies in England and Wales. When replacing windows and doors, homeowners must comply with current thermal performance standards and ensure they get a certificate from FENSA or Local Authority Building Control. FENSA enables companies that install replacement windows and doors to self-certify compliance under these Building Regulations without the need for a separate assessment from Building Control.
