Tilt & Turn Windows for Hampshire

Tilt and turn windows have helped revolutionise the way we view and use windows. Created in Germany, tilt and turn windows originated from the desire to provide homes with more fresh air and give people more control over their space. These incredible windows have proven so popular not just because of their versatility and practicality, but also the empowering nature they give users. Using cutting-edge technology and the very latest, most durable materials, all of our products are guaranteed to continue looking great and provide incredible energy efficiency for many years to come.

The unique hinge design of tilt and turn windows means you can use them in various ways. Turn the handle once and only the top opens, locking into place. This allows you to control the amount of fresh air entering your home even when you are not there, and all without the worry of security or what the unpredictable weather is doing outside. Turn the handle once more and the side hinge swings into action; allowing it to open fully inward and thereby providing even more ventilation, as well as easy access for cleaning. Such versatility means you can even reverse each of the tilt and turn functions, for instance installing windows that swing outwards rather than inwards, as well as ones that tilt up and out from the bottom instead of the top.

Choose from double glazed, triple glazed, even secondary glazing…

Alongside options for the type of frame, style and colour, there is also an important decision to make about the type of glazing.  The technical specification of the glass will largely depend on whether you opt for Energy Rated Windows, but there’s also wide variety of aesthetic options such as leaded glass and astragal bars.

Double Glazing

Double glazing remains the most suitable specification of glazing for the majority of residential properties. Double glazing is more thermally efficient compared to single glazing  due to the insulating cavity that is created by the two panes of glass, the intelligent properties of the glass itself and other materials and components that make up the ‘sealed unit’. Our double glazed windows are available in a range of colours and finishes meaning there is something to suit virtually every home in Hampshire.

Triple Glazing

Triple Glazing Windows use the very latest technology from the glazing industry to provide home owners with a level of energy efficiency and security never felt before. UPVC or Aluminium Triple Glazing has the same good looks as double glazing and comes in a variety of styles meaning there is a style to suit virtually every home. However Triple glazing does more than just look good it is also far superior in terms of thermal efficiency – approximately 60% more thermally efficient than standard C-rated windows and 40% more efficient than standard A-rated double glazing. Meaning if you install Triple glazing in your home you could save hundreds on your heating bills.

Secondary Glazing

As a company surrounded by many beautiful and historic villages we understand that in some cases replacement UPVC and aluminium windows may not be the most sympathetic way to improve a homes energy efficiency. With secondary glazing you may be able to significantly decrease heat loss and drafts whilst still retaining the original character of the property. Another significant and immediate benefit of this type of glazing is an acoustic one – helping to reduce the amount of external noise travelling into the property. With a variety of styles available there should be an option for all types of window, the subtle designs will fit in behind your existing windows and a variety of colour options will help to blend this in with your décor.

UPVC, Aluminium or Heritage – the choice is yours…

Choosing UPVC is the easy choice for many homeowners and their windows due to it being affordable, low maintenance and long lasting.  UPVC frames are also thermal efficient and provide a good level of noise reduction. The negative for many people is that UPVC windows often don’t provide the aesthetically pleasing addition that people are looking for, however recent developments in the industry such as woodgrain finishes, mean that homeowner can get the best of both worlds with their new double glazing.

he advantage of the latest technologically advanced aluminium framed windows is strength, durability, elegance and high thermal efficiency. Aluminium window frames allow light to flood into your property from even the smallest window, whilst offering the peace of mind of enhanced high security, as locking is built in as standard. Wessex Window Systems design and manufacture aluminium windows to the highest possible standards to ensure that their range of energy rated aluminium window frames will add value to your home. Customers can reduce their energy bills with environmentally friendly “A”, “B” or “C” rated aluminium windows.

Mechanically jointed timber-effect Heritage windows feature a flush fitting sash which replicates, to almost exact detail, the appearance of 19th century windows and when used in the construction of an orangery the result is nothing short of stunning. The design of the window frame and sash is complemented by traditional hardware such as butt hinges, peg stays and monkey tail handles.

Lots of colour options for your windows…

Although white has been the accepted colour choice for conservatories for a generation, Wessex has many more options than that in both the UPVC and Aluminium ranges.

The aluminium range now comes in 21 stylish colours, whilst with UPVc, woodgrain finishes are becoming more and more popular and come in 9 different colour options.
